Painted by Italian Renaissance Master Artist Sandro Botticelli this scene is thought to tell the story of Venus' arrival at the island of Kythera or Cyprus. The shell she travels so gracefully in was blown to its destination by the warm breath of Zephry and Chloris. Met by what is thought to be one of the three Grace's Venus is offered a gown embroidered in daisies or flowers.
